History has it that the famous Moroccan traveler Ibn Battuta visited Chaliam.
The traveler recorded about the colorful fabrics woven by the weavers.
The land of Chaliyas thus became Chaliyam. During the occupation, the Dutch encroached on Chaliat's commercial development and turned it into a military base.
The mosque built by Malikba was demolished and fortified.
On the basis of the agreement with the Zamorin, the believers of Islam were swollen. It didn't take long to respond by looking for a way to defend. The Hindus and the Muslims joined hands and laid a strong siege and demolished the fort. Remains of the fort can be seen as a sign of occupation. Here you can hear the murmurs and noises of the bloody battle.
